Vernacular Character suffolk new build

A new build house in the Suffolk countryside has products from the Mumford & Wood Conservation Range specified in its construction. Sash and Casement windows painted in a shade of off-white, with the entrance doors and Garden Room in Red Grandis Oak form important elements of the overall design.

The plot on which the house is built already had planning permission, but the new owners wanted to construct a house with a vernacular character that sat more comfortably within the site than the already approved plan. Working with Council planning officials a revised permission was granted and the project broke ground in June 2016 with completion in May 2017.

The owners were aware of Mumford & Wood through recommendation. Having made visits to our Essex showroom and manufacturing facilities, along with meeting the team that would be responsible for the project, it was confirmed that Mumford and Wood Conservation Range were the products of choice.

The owners commented that the property takes in a mixture of external and internal finishes. The elegant sliding sash windows in conjunction with the simple casement windows, alongside the hardwood entrance doors and garden room, have a contrasting yet timeless appeal which is reflected in the overall build quality.
