Private development

High performance timber windows and doors from the award-winning Conservation™ range by Mumford & Wood have been specified for a unique collection of 10 private new homes in a charming village close to the vibrant county town of Ipswich. Located in the grounds of a former private girls school these traditionally designed homes are set amongst 25 acres of mature Suffolk parkland and positioned to maximise privacy and security in this enchanting location.

“Each property has been built to the very highest standards throughout,” says Ben Greenwood, regional sales manager, Mumford & Wood, “and great care and attention has been taken to create the craftsmanship and architectural style of the past. These homes will have the advantage of low maintenance, modern construction techniques and the latest technology to create a sustainable, comfortable and very elegant lifestyle. We are delighted that our Conservation™ products have been incorporated in these new-builds as this development is truly a one-of-a-kind, masterpiece of a project.”

The luxurious specification of the properties includes hand built kitchens with beautiful solid wooden cabinetry and fully integrated market-leading appliances; delicious, inspirational bathrooms; wood burning stoves and a variety of floor finishes. Each home is spacious and light, offering a variety of floor layouts and designs, imaginatively created by the developer’s talented design team.

Products specified from the carefully coordinated Conservation™ range satisfy both the timeless aesthetics of the architectural style while delivering the highest levels of thermal and acoustic performance. With Secured by Design accreditation to Pas 24 certification Conservation™ products satisfy Document Q – Security requirements of current Building Regulations for new-build properties.

Elegant made-to-order Conservation™ Georgian-style sash windows, and flush casements with glazing bars, have been used throughout the development. Many attractive design features include casements with arched heads; some in a bay formation and others with elegant Gothic-style glazing bars. Semi-glazed French doorsets leading to generous 360° gardens feature strongly while a range of entrance door styles, some partially glazed, with and without fixed side lights and fanlight grilles, allow maximum light ingress.

The developer has also refurbished the former school, a traditional red brick building, to provide well-appointed leasehold apartments and mews-style cottages for the over 55’s.
