EAB Homes and Developments, (EAB), the award-winning design and build property specialist, has specified leaded light Oak casement windows, French and bi-fold doors for a beautiful new residence in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. In this sought after location, the 9,000 sq ft property provides sumptuous living accommodation over three floors with a dramatic and flowing open plan interior. All principal rooms lead off the grand two-storey entrance hall and benefit from a light drenched space. With an exceptional finish throughout, and superb attention to the finer details, this one-for-one property provides the most desirable location for family living.

“We are receiving some tremendous and very encouraging feed-back on this property,” says Peter Warren, director, EAB Homes and Developments, “and we are confident this will make a beautiful family home. It’s a fantastic opportunity to develop a property of this size and grandeur in such a prestigious location and we have been very careful to make the most of every natural asset. The property has certainly been enhanced with the specification of Mumford & Wood’s beautiful windows and doors. No expense has been spared and we have made no compromise in delivering what we hope will be yet another successful project.”

Traditional rectangular leaded casements are part of Mumford & Wood’s highly coordinated Conservation™ range which includes sliding sash windows, French doorsets, bi-fold and entrance doors in traditional and contemporary styles. The company’s flush leaded casement is representative of designs of the Arts & Craft era which spanned a 30 year period reaching its height in the early 20th century.

Conservation™ leaded light casements are particularly popular in solid European Oak; EAB have chosen a dual finish combination of a natural Oak exterior and a painted interior which contributes to the character and elegance of this traditionally-styled property. Today these casements are being specified on a substantial scale for beautiful, bespoke properties where the use of natural materials, craftsmanship and individuality come together.

Bespoke, made-to-order Conservation™ products are manufactured from sustainably sourced and FSC certified, clear grade timber, and are fully finished with three coats of water-based, spray applied micro-porous stain which contributes to longer maintenance cycles.

The factory fitted double glazed units are internally glazed for improved aesthetics and security while a Secured by Design specification is an alternative option. The standard 24mm units feature 9mm antiqued lead. This forms the came sections which are applied to the inside and outside of the outer glass leaf with a simple, chamfered internal profile.

“Our attractive Conservation™ Oak leaded windows make a wonderful and individual statement,” says Tom Barfield, sales director, Mumford & Wood, “and at the same time provide 21st century standards of thermal and acoustic performance.”

Conservation™ bi-fold doors are featured in the open plan kitchen, dining room and day room and provide easy access to the beautifully landscaped rear garden and attractive sun terrace whilst the impressive master suite has a Juliet balcony accessed by a leaded French doorset.
