We are proud to introduce Alex Flokkas - our Regional Sales
Manager who recently cycled The South Downs Way, completing 100 miles in just 19
hours, raising essential funds for The Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Alex’s route started in Winchester and finished in
Eastbourne where he had to negotiate some really tough terrain, most of which
he navigated in almost complete darkness.
Alex said: “the most important preparation was my training,
ensuring I was of a certain fitness level. I also took time to learn the route,
learnt the best way to keep energy levels up and practised bike control,
preparing for the hilly terrain I knew I would encounter a lot of.”
He made the decision to raise money for MS after his wife’s
uncle was diagnosed with the disease back in 1985.
“I wanted to raise money for a charity that is close to my
heart and the support I have had so far from family and friends has been
overwhelming. I have now reached my target of £2,000, but I of course welcome
anyone that wishes to further support this cause.”
Alex managed to record his journey and the challenges along
the way. To check out his experiences please click here.
