Mumford & Wood are pleased to announce a new relationship with Chilstone, makers of fine cast stone.
At Chilstone’s workshops near Tunbridge Wells in Kent, a small selection of Mumford & Wood’s products are on display which are a perfect match for architectural stonework detail. Since 1953 the craftsmen at Chilstone have created handmade garden ornaments and engineered architectural stonework from unique cast stone including balustrading, columns, cills, coping, pier capitals and temples.
Traditional-style timber windows and doors by Mumford & Wood are frequently specified for older buildings where many have distinctive architectural features in which stone plays an important role in the original design. Stonework and beautiful bespoke timber windows and doors also makes for an impressive and grand statement for a traditionally-styled new-build.
Chilstone’s stunning show-gardens and lakes are open to the public all year round and feature many of their finest garden ornaments, sculptures and garden buildings with an array of working stone fountains, temples, stone urns, sundials, birdbaths, benches and pedestals. They can also be found in some of the world’s greatest gardens including the Royal Horticultural Gardens at Kew, at palaces such as Hever, Warwick and Kensington and in spectacular private gardens such as Sir Roy Strong’s The Laskett on the Welsh borders. Equally, Chilstone’s English-made cast stone garden ornaments are suitable for even the smallest of gardens.
