Mumford & Wood receives major conservation award
For the second consecutive year Mumford & Wood, the sash window specialist, has won the Conservation and Renovation category of the Homebuilding & Renovating Product Excellence Award.
The achievement acknowledged a prestigious and very complex project in one of London’s most desirable locations for which Mumford & Wood designed and manufactured bespoke windows and doors for the retained front façade of a mixed-use, multi-storey property.
Mumford & Wood’s current window specification designs were adapted to meet, as closely as possible, the external detailing of the existing frame sections, and meeting rails on the replacement double glazed windows were required to stay in the same position in order to line up with stone features and brick work in the retained facades.
Mumford & Wood’s high performance, double glazed Conservation™ products are made from premium laminated, clear-grade timber. The Conservation™ box sash offers BSI ‘A-C’ Window Energy Ratings with an overall frame U-value of 1.4 W/m².K, depending on specification. Traditional sightlines and a range of elegant and distinctive moulded profiles ensure these windows and complementary French doorsets and entrance doors are almost indiscernible from originals.
