Mumford & Wood has recently invested a figure approaching £1.5m in the company’s manufacturing facility in Tiptree, Essex.
Having celebrated the company’s 60th Anniversary in 2014, the investment will be marked on Friday 26 June 2015 at a special reception. Guest of Honour is The Right Honourable Priti Patel MP, Minister of State for Employment, who will formally open the extended facility, currently home to 120 employees.
“First of all, the investment in this state-of-the-art, computer controlled plant and machinery has enabled Mumford & Wood to replace a great deal of the manual work on the more straightforward products, thus allowing our craftsmen and women to channel their efforts to more skilled work, including the production of specials, such as bay windows and curved heads, that require specialist hand finishing and which for them is both interesting and rewarding,” says Mike Harris, operations director.
Confidence in the market
“For our valued employees, staff and stakeholders,” says Roy Wakeman OBE, Chairman, the Performance Timber Products Group (PTPG), “this considerable move underlines continued future confidence, market growth, increased output and investment in innovation for this market-leading brand.”
The PTPG is the parent company of Mumford & Wood and includes the leading timber window brands of Timber Windows, with products that are sold through a UK installer network, and Dale Windows, who offer fenestration systems that are sold through the merchant distribution network via an innovative on-line ordering system.
New product launches
Indeed the company is pleased to introduce a number of new products to the Conservation™ range over the coming months that will continue to combine beautiful aesthetics, exceptional levels of thermal and acoustic performance, with security remaining top of the list.
A member of the British Woodworking Federation’s Wood Window Alliance, the company’s products are made from engineered timber to third party accreditation, are BRE A+ rated, and have a life expectancy of 65 years or more. Products carry the BSI Kitemark and are Energy Saving Trust listed.
