Mumford & Wood Window carry BSI Kitemark Stamp
Mumford & Wood announce the achievement of the BSI Kitemark of excellence
for their extensive range of premium quality timber windows. Awarded under the company’s membership of the British Woodworking Federation (BWF) Timber Window Accreditation Scheme (TWAS) and in partnership with the BSI Kitemark, this third party certification scheme requires members to undergo a stringent approvals process.
Through this independent recognition procedure Mumford & Wood has illustrated that factory assembled timber windows in the Conservation™ and Contemporary™ collections are manufactured in accordance with the TWA Scheme’s criteria to meet, and indeed surpass, the minimum requirements of BS644 and doorset assembly to meet the Secured by Design standard to PAS23/24.
All products manufactured by Mumford & Wood meet Building Standards as a requirement of the BSI Kitemark accreditation and have successfully tested for durability and weather characteristics as well as operational performance.
Under the Scheme it is the manufacturers’ responsibility to offer equal guarantees on third party suppliers of component parts and systems including preservation treatments, glazing units, weatherseal and hardware.
Continuous assessment and audits will be undertaken by BSI to ensure on-going compliance. Mumford & Wood has undertaken to work to the standards of best practice for joinery and woodworking as outlined in the BWF Code of Conduct by embracing quality control procedures at every level of manufacturing and material sourcing.
Recent achievements for the company already include ISO9000/2000 Quality Manufacturing Systems and Standards, ISO14001 Environmental compliance and BFRC Energy Ratings linked to Sustainable Homes Codes levels.
