Mumford & Wood was established in 1954 to produce high quality joinery products using traditional craftsmanship and with an emphasis on attention to detail. With an ever increasing demand for our unique products, a new factory was built in 1972 and gradually expanded until, in 1998, the company relocated to a state-of-the-art factory in Tiptree, Essex, where it is today. In 2004 it was decided to purchase a specialist additional facility in nearby Maldon, Essex to process laminated raw material to fully meet the continued exacting standards of the company.
The factory was planned for the efficient production of timber sash windows and incorporates the necessary environmental controls to achieve the advanced quality products we are renowned for. Throughout our history, we have supplied windows and doors for listed buildings, conservation areas and many prestigious projects.
The present day
With 50 years of experience behind us, the company's aims remain unchanged and we continue to produce the finest timber windows and French doors. However, with the benefit of modern production facilities and technology, we’ve been able to keep pace with the demand for our products and without the need to compromise our quality. This has led to us being regarded as the leading timber sliding sash window specialist in the country - something supported by the fact that over 90 percent of our orders are architect-specified. In short, we believe our pedigree remains unrivalled.
Superb design - both technical and aesthetic, exceptional quality, precision built, and all with the aim of giving excellent life span and economical service. This is backed-up with outstanding levels of customer service at every stage of the process.
